Hi,

My name is Peter, I live in Liverpool, and I care for my 60 year old wife Doreen, who was diagnosed with PPA, a form of Fronto Temporal Dementia, in Nov 2002. I just heard this site mentioned on Radio Merseyside today 17th January 2007.

I would welcome any further communication with carers of FTD sufferers in the the Merseyside area, or UK.

Thank you for accepting my registration,

Take care,

Peter Moore.

Hi Erica,
Thank you for your response. Here is a bit more informtion:

I am a member of the Pick's Disease Support Group, and I am the local organisor of the PDSG Face to Face meetings, which takes place every three months at the Neurosupport Centre, in Norton Street, Liverpool. Next meeting is 17th March 2008.

I am also the co-moderator/Administrator of www.ftdsupportforum.com, which was launched on 1st January 2008, and currently has 190 members, and is still growing day by day. Our previous forum, on Yahoo had 686 members and we are currently transferring members over.

My reason for joining your forum is to hopefully increase awareness in the region and UK, of FTD/Pick's Disease.

It is quite a rare form of Dementia, which has differents presentation of symptoms than Alzheimer's, and can affect a younger age group. I know of one person who contracted Pick's at age 31. She died a few years ago.

Thank you for the opportunity, take care,

Peter

Hi Peter,
If its ok with you, would I be able to come along to the meeting in the Neurosupport? If you wanted I could give a talk about our assistive technology as well as other services? my email is erica.danna@pss.org.uk

I've put a link to your website on the links page: plugins/links_page/links.php?cat.1

The more we can do to make people aware of the services and support that is available the better!

Thanks again for your time

Erica
