About The Dementia Centre
Who are you?
We provide evidence-based, expert advice in dementia care through consultancy, education, publications and events. This advice is tailored to the needs and situation of your organisation, and aims to be practical, appropriate and affordable.
The Dementia Centre is an impartial service supported by HammondCare to the aged and dementia care community. Our work with your organisation is entirely confidential unless you choose to share your story.
What size organisations do you work with?
We are happy to work with any size organisation! Our team has worked on one-on-one team leader mentoring through to supporting the design of building projects from scratch. We are happy to consult for a few hours on a planned renovation, or work with your team over several weeks at a time that meets your needs. Training and education can also be delivered in modules timed to suit your organisational needs.
How much do you charge?
Our costs vary, depending on the scope of work and number of staff involved. As a not-for-profit, we charge only enough to recoup our costs and ensure we can continue supporting all involved in the care of people with dementia. Please contact us, if you would like more information about our costs or to obtain a quote for our services.

What courses do you have?
We offer a variety of study days on topics such as night time care, behaviours, acute care and many many more.
Have something in particular you need training in? There is every chance we will have the materials and facilitators to make it happen. We can also tailor training for your organisational needs. Contact us to discuss how we can partner with you.

How do I register for a course?
When you find the course that you want to attend, simply click the "Register" button. This will take you to our booking website and allow you to pay securely via credit card and in some instances, via invoice.
I don't have a credit card. How can I pay?
If you are unable to pay via credit card, you can request an invoice. To do this email email@example.com, including what course you want to register for, how many people, contact name and details and the invoice will be sent to you.
Can I enrol my staff in a course?
Of course. You can register multiple staff members online through the bookings site or by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.

How do I register for a course?
Who can come?
Any person is in paid employment in an accredited aged care or community care organisation is eligible to attend this course.
Training from NSW DBMAS is open to all people caring for someone living with dementia, whether a volunteer, community carer, residential care worker or family member.
Can I enrol for any DCE course in my area?
If the course is on our website, you are able to enrol in it. But be warned, the courses fill fast - so book early to avoid disappointment.
How much does it cost?
The Dementia Care Essentials program is a government funded program, which means there is absolutely no cost for you to attend the course. Students do have to make their own way to the training venue at their own expense and bring their own lunch.
I have a lot of staff interested - can I run the course at my facility?
Absolutely. We have trainers located around NSW. Courses at your facility can be open to any interested careworker, or just for your team. There are minimum numbers for a course. Contact us for more information.
What payment options do you offer?
Our online shop allows payment from Visa or Mastercard.
We can also process many credit cards over the phone or arrange an invoice for you that can be paid by credit card, direct transfer or cheque.
Is the shop secure?

Why is there only one shipping option?
We have selected Australia Post as the shipping option that represents best value and reliable service for our customers.
I need my book faster - can you help?
Please call the Dementia Centre on +61 2 9437 7355 if you need a book urgently. We can process payment over the phone, including express postage.
I'm looking for something specific, but I can't find it!
As we publish new books, old stock is removed from the online shop. Contact us if you have questions.
I don't have a credit card. How do I buy a book?
You can definitely purchase our products without a credit card. We can accept cheques and direct transfers. Cash purchases can be made at HammondCare's Greenwich, Hammondville and Kent St (Sydney CBD) locations.
If your organisation requires an invoice for purchases, contact us with your order and we will arrange it for you.
I want a lot of books. Do you do discounts?
I was at an event where you had books on sale. Can I still buy them at the sale price?
Our event prices are great value, and only valid for the duration of the event. In some cases you may be able to still purchase books at the discounted price using the code give for a further week.
