Volunteer
PSS services are enriched by the work of volunteers. Some help with one-off events such as a summer play scheme, but many others work on a regular basis throughout the year. They contribute significantly to the direct provision of services as well as to advisory and management groups within the organisation. Their enthusiasm and commitment make a unique contribution, adding to the quality of our services in a way that purely paid for work never could.

Many of our volunteers have joined us because of the extensive training and personal development that volunteering in PSS can provide. For this reason, all our volunteering work is coordinated through our training section. People of all ages are supported to find volunteering opportunities to match their individual interests, skills and aspirations.
We are proud that PSS has been able to develop opportunities for people with a whole range of skills, abilities and life experiences, including people with physical and sensory impairments who view PSS as an organisation that recognises and values the special contribution they can make.
