Services
The partnership of Liverpool Hope University and PSS will support growth through access to current research as well as further research funding opportunities, new training / education opportunities and a unique development framework to support advocacy and awareness dissemination regionally, nationally and internationally. Listed below are some of the services that will be made available when the new building is open.
Research and Academic Work
Dementia-related research can be conducted across the university in a range of areas including computing, politics, social marketing, psychology, social work, applied social science, nursing and economics.
Education and Training
To provide affordable, accessible, short and workplace based learning in dementia care across the UK and internationally. Attending a seminar or training course will provide the opportunity to experience a building specifically designed for people with dementia. The Centre would also have a permanent display of assistive technology in the demonstration room.
Workplace-based Training
Allows managers to tailor a specific course to the training needs and workplace of the staff team. Each course is planned in consultation with the manager so that a jointly agreed proposal, with an evaluation of the impact, is agreed before the training starts.
Consultancy
Our dementia consultancy services would provide the expertise to plan, design and audit services which develop a better quality of life for people with dementia. the centre would work in partnership with organisations across the public and independant sectors, delivering consultancy on dementia, tailored to meet specific needs.
Library and Information Service
This would house a large collection of publications including books, reports and journal articles on the care of people with dementia.
