Day Care
Day Care centres usually operate Monday to Friday during daytime hours. They can be public or privately run, for profit or non-profit. Day care centres intend to give caregivers a well earned break and provide the person with Dementia with an opportunity to get out of the house while receiving both mental and social stimulation.
For a person with Dementia, attending a Day Care centre can have a lot of advantages although there could be some negative effects that need consideration. For you as a Carer, the Day Care centre will give a well earned break, while at the same time you can be assured that the person you are caring for is receiving a service that aims to help and support them.
