Are you caring for someone with dementia?


Liverpool City Council have commissioned PSS to deliver the Supporting the Dementia Journey training for carers who reside in the Liverpool area and are caring for a person with dementia. This training is free of charge to informal carers (this could be a family member, friend or neighbour). The course aims to help participants achieve a greater understanding of dementia and look at how we can continue to support people with dementia and their carers.

Understanding dementia as a syndrome caused by a number of different conditions.


Communication

Understanding Behaviours

Medication

Are pills the answer?


Supporting Relationships

Difficult issues that may arise between a person with dementia and those that care for them.



The Dementia Journey

An insight into what the experience of having dementia might be like.


Assistive Technology

A way of supporting people to use their everyday skills.


Maintaining Skills

Reinforce a sense of individuality, dignity, confidence and well being.
