Support Groups

Support for the carers of people with Dementia has become more abundant in the last few years, especially in the UK. In addition to the formal support networks such as financial (Welfare Benefits System / Health and Social Care Services), Department of Health (PCT / NHS), and voluntary organisations (PSS / Age UK / Alzheimer's Society), there are also many informal local and community based support groups.
These support groups usually meet on a regular basis to discuss common issues, latest innovations, and have a general social get-together, all of which offer invaluable advice and support in all aspects of the day to day issues that may present when caring for someone with Dementia.
In addition to this, there are also many charities that support Carers regardless of whether they are caring for someone who has Dementia or any other condition. Organisations such as Carers UK, Crossroads Care, and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers all offer information, help and advice to support you in all aspects of caring for someone.
